Hi,
My boiler is vaillant ecotec 24
I’m planning on installing the hive reciever into my boiler. I’m gonna disconnect the old manual dial thermostat stat.

Ive got 5 core wire, I know where the earth neutral and live go, but where do I put the other 2. Do I put them in rt 230v or the rt 24v. What I’ve read I put them into the 230v. But do I put them both into there or just 1 and other to the live. ?

Doesnt matter , you can use the 24v or the 240v as long as you put both wires into the same plug, the hive is voltage free so will switch either

So I can put both wires into 230v rt. and which way round would it be.

heating on wire 3 into 230rt and wire 1 Into the Unused port on the rt230 ?

the hive is voltage free so will switch either

The SINGLE CHANNEL Hive is voltage free, the dual channel Hive has internal connections to Live so cannot be used on 24 V control.

( just in case someone else reads this and assumes both dual and single channel Hives are volt free switching )

one into terminal 1 on hive and the other into terminal 3 on the hive , you have to remove the wire that is already in the terminal that is from the old thermostat, doesnt matter which way round it is simply a switch

So after I’ve connected live nuetral and earth is this correct

Didn’t think Common worked on this type of pcb? Also op, you need to perform safety checks afterwards.

So I’m still using the com wire into the unused rt230 port on left ?
This cant be more simple, you have two connections on the 230v plug, one goes to 1 on the hive and the other goes to 3 on the hive, couldnt be easier, any way round, it is a switch nothing else

Does this additional port have a function? I was told it served no purpose?

I wired it as you said, it calls for heat but does not seem to heat up. ?

so would this only need 1 wire to rt 230 and a loop from common to live in the hive reciever ?
