Indeed ... but this comment suggests the boiler is on a separate feed which is my concern.
If the 5 core does feed power to the boiler with the grey and black switching then no bother, that's all I wanted to check.

Normally I would share the concern, but in this case the OP is only removing the room thermostat and closing the circuit. The rest of the system and the actual boiler control wires haven't changed, they remain exactly as they were originally installed by BG.
