Hi all

I am laying MDPE into the house, i need to know what size pipe and insulation (what type) i should be putting this MDPE in for frost protection.

Insulation?

Are you expecting perma-frost?

Water pipes are not normally insulated in ground because they are at sufficient depth to avoid freezing.

Hi there,

Depth shoud be between 750 & 1350 mm which as tipper says takes care of the insulation.

As for pipe size, I assume you mean of the MDPE, fit the biggest you can get away with, 25mm should do it.

MDPE just needs to be sleeved where it comes into the building all the way to where it exits the floor or wall. Normally done with 110mm soil pipe.

Thanks for info.

most of the pipe will be at 750mm but as it goes into the house it will have to surface outside hence the reason for me asking about insulation sizes

thanks again
