We are having some work carried out by an electrician, including installing some new sockets in a partition wall.

We really need to get the wall up and I wanted to know if I could install the sockets in the wall (and the cabling) as long as it is not connected up and we leave enough cable etc.

Is this OK to do? Can the electrician still comply if we do this part ourselves?

BAN is very reserved today. Officially no he needs to be in control of the whole install. However many will bend the rules a bit. So as BAS says you need to ask him.

Do you know all the rules regarding safe zones which dictate where cables can and can not be run in a wall? Do you know what type and size of cable to use? Where it needs to run to and from? What depth back boxes to install?
