I would like to install a "pull cord" fan heater on a wall of my top floor bathroom.

The house currently has central heating but I want the fan for when a quick temp boost is necessary.

Anything I should know?

Yes, it needs installing by a competent electrician.

And the circuit must be RCD protected.

And the connections and the heater must comply with the requirements of the bathroom zone in which it is situated

had electrician round. He says he will have to take a spur off a wall socket and lay a cable to the bathroom?

RCD is installed at consumer unit.

Do this sound ok?

If he is a qualified, registered electrician then he will know what's what. After all, he has seen your bathroom. I haven't.
