there is a new lighting circuit on the new single storey extension, but now there is also a new conservatory going in next to it, how is the wiring done to put in 2 wall lights on the old exterior wall, i know how to wire up to ceiling roses, but how do you do it to wire up to wall lights, can the old lighting circuit be broken into with a junction box (or are these outlawed since 17th edition). obviously you cant have incoming, next light, switch wire and wall light going into the wall light. hows it done please

In the switch back box so all in, out and switch cabling can be accessed.

Look at lights in the DIYnot wiki.

you need to find a point on the existing lighting circuit containing permanant live, neutral and earth. possibly you have an outside light switch nearby.
the easiest way to do wall lights is to run a t+e from supply to new switch; and then a t+e from switch to wall light. at the switch the neutrals would go together in a separate connector block; the lives either side of the switch.

an easier way to obtain a lighting feed may be to include an unswitched fused spur unit on the socket circuit. fuse to 3 or 5A and run 1.0 mm t+e from this to new light switch, from here to wall light.
