Instant hot water tap.

Hello.
Wife has bought a cheap instant hot water tap, from amazon, and I just wanted a bit of advice on installing it.
It's one of those 60 quid ones which plugs into a standard socket, and has a heating element inside the tap body, which heats to 45 degrees C (max 60 deg C).
The fitted flex (1.5mm, 3 core) has a european plug and a provided UK adaptor. The tap says it is rated 16A, but obviously UK sockets are rated 13A.
My questions are, as the flex on the tap is too short to reach the nearest socket, am I better using an extension lead, or using a 3 pole IP rated inline cable joint, and if joining, would heat resistant 1.5mm flex be advised, and will a the socket cope?
Tap will be run for washing hands and doing the dishes, so not on for long.

Can you link to the product?

With regards to a 13 Amp extension lead, the device will never be able to exceed the 13 amp fuse. I am not an electrician, but would give that a try first.

Ok it is 3000W, regular plug and decent quality extension lead should be fine (I am not an electrician though).
