Hi - first post, so go easy one me...

Moved into a new house, and we have a angled T&G ceiling in the lounge - as far as I can tell, there is no insulation up there, and cursory viewings would suggest the T&G is nailed straight onto rafters, and therefore it's then only a few layers of membrane etc then outside tiles, so nothing much between us and the elements.

I thought about adding 7 - 10mm of Kingspan or equivalent straight onto the T&G, but not sure if there is anything I might be missing in the way of ventilation? There wouldn't be any issue with 'thermal bridging' or anything like that would there??? SWMBO loves whacking the heating on just underneath it...

Since it's your living-room and therefore heated more than any other room, I would have thought it worthwhile to take down the boarding, insulate properly ( 100 mm ? ) and then finish with your chosen covering with a vapour-barrier fitted directly behind it.
