Plasterer was supposed to be coming this week, but he went to a kitchen re plaster/skim job and someone had plastered over hardboard so he now can't make it until December.
We're keen to keep going and try and get the insulation/ TG chipboard down on the floor and get the base units /worktop and sink in. My parents will be coming for Christmas so we need the mac' loo in there before then and getting decent trades is difficult.
Could we just tape and fill the IPB joints at the bottom of the wall where the base units are going to go, ie drywall method, then seal and paint ? What about thin plywood over the top if drywall isn't a good idea with IPB ?

Yeah you can, always better skimmed but you can treat a plasterboard as a final surface to decorate.
Thanks! Obviously there's a vapour barrier under the IPB, so as long as we do the joints well and use a bathroom or kitchen paint there shouldn't be any issue with the insulation?
