Hey everyone,

I've got the option of 38mm Gyproc Thermaline PIR (http://www.british-gypsum.com/products/gyproc-thermaline-pir) or 40mm Gyproc Thermaline PLUS (http://www.british-gypsum.com/products/gyproc-thermaline-plus) for insulating my external walls during my renovation.

The boards will be Dot and Dabbed with a couple mechanical fixings.

They both end up pretty much the same price, which would you choose?

I plan on buying it now as the prices are starting to increased drastically due to shortages.

Thankyou, any feedback is much appreciated.

The 38mm has an R-value of 1.15, and the thermaline plus only has 0.94, so that says the thermaline has better insulation than the "plus" one. The so called ordinary thermaline has 12.5mm of plasterboard, and the Plus is only 9.5mm, so I'd have gone with the ordinary one any way. Have a chat with their technical department though to make sure.

Thanks for the feedback Doggit, looks like ill be going for 38mm Thermaline PIR for the walls and use some 27mm Thermaline Plus for the reveals (they don't do thinner than 38mm in the PIR).
