Insulating a cold, unvented roof - possible?

it does actually. But anyway , I prefer to advise good practice.
Based on the fact that we have stripped a fair few roofs that had filled rafter voids (by others ) transmitting moisture onto ceilings.
Does this imply that the roofs without filled voids have not leaked to the ceiling?

It's a basic fact that condensation within roof voids can be dealt with in one of two ways - warm roof, no ventilation or cold roof, ventilation. If the roof leaks water comes through just the same irrespective of how its been constructed.
