Hi guys. Has anyone any practical experience of insulating a conservatory roof. Looking more at going diy rather than specialist company but interested in all experiences. It is a conventional Victorian upvc double glazed construction with a polycarbonate roof.
Thanks.

Done a few, most important thing to remember is to maintain an airgap between the insulation and polycarbonate sheeting and free flow of air from eave to ridge.

Start off by fitting 50x25mm battens down the glazing bars to which you staple your http://www.roofingsuperstore.co.uk/...s-tri-iso-super-10-16m-x-1250m-roll-20m2.html to.

Then fix more battens horizontally around the ceiling to fix your gyproc to.
Awkward shapes at the top can be framed out to make it easier to sheet and skim.

The air gap was something I was wondering about. Also concerned about the weight of all that timber. Rather than plaster board and skim I was thinking upvc cladding would be lighter once the insulation was secured.

Of course cladding is another alternative and saves paying a spread.

There are loads of videos on u tube.
