Hi all I'm after some advice with regards to insulating my loft which also includes the raked ceiling. Currently the loft is very poorly insulated so I've bought some 200mm knauf insulation and I've also purchased 4 boards of 50mm insulation board for the raked ceiling section and 20 lap vents. The part I'm unsure about is the raked ceiling .I measured inside the bedroom and it is approx 500mm deep however when I went upto loft and measured it is 500mm then there is a beam then it extends another 500mm past that. Is it best to put the board the full 1000mm or can I just put it the 500mm upto the beam and this covering the bedroom ceiling? Or shall I cut the 1000mm into 2 pieces and put it both sides of beam. I've attached some photos so hopefully it will become clear.
Many thanks
