I have a domestic concrete kitchen floor, with middle third wood on joists. I am filling in middle third with concrete (hardcore, DPM, 100mm concrete, 100mm Jabfloor, VCL, 65 screed) in order to tile over the lot.

My question is, where the insulation upstand is required at the edges of the infill, if it is to insulate properly, will it need to be visible level with the top of the screed? Or can I/ do I need to screed say 25mm over top of upstand to make more solid/ uniform ready for tiling- but won't this compromise insulation?

Thanks.
