Hi all,

i'm looking at getting a sheet of foam board to have on the floor to help cutting sheet.

I don't have room for a table saw so thought i'd go this route.

I've just made a couple of circular saw running guides which have made a huge improvement. Just want to be able to cut on the floor rather than on benches.

Would this do the job? or do you think XPS would just go everywhere?

I don't really want to spend the money on proper insulation as I couldn't care less how well it insulates, I just want a good cutting surface.

Anyone used anything other than Celotex/Kingspan

Just pack the board up and cut through fresh air, and not create any hazardous insulation dust.

I use a sheet of MDF. Usually the packing piece that comes with sheet timber I've had delivered. Better finish than propping the sheet up and cutting air (although that method is good if the finish is less critical)
