hi all

I have inherited the interesting connection as shown on the attached pics - is there an easy way to fix this so the bathroom can look like one rather than a second rate boilerhouse?

Thanks in advance

An easy way would be to install a back to wall pan and hidden cistern therefore boxing in all unsightly pipe work. Alternatively just box in the pipe work on show?

Thats an antique CI bent pan branch.

You could put the toilet back on the other wall where it was originally, and box the back wall out to fit, or, remove the CI branch and a setion of pipe and rejig the stack.

Provided that is an upstair Bathroom? and you can get full access to the room below, then it's about half a days work for a Plumber to cut the stack above and below the tee, then renew the section in plastic with ring seal fittings and cast iron to plastic adaptors. Or possibly a day for a DIYer. Not a particularly nice job for anyone

I thought it must have been that far out because the original Pan was a Low/High level and was changed in the '70's. Doesn't really matter to be honest, it doesn't help the OP

What's the betting that the original installation had a side outlet pan?
(Not much use to the OP, they're probably rarer than hen's teeth now.)

All I can think of is cutting out and re-making the tee.

a horiz. outlet and bent connector is the same  One small improvement in sanitary plumbing since Thos. Crapper. Is that stack some sort of galv steel :?: the bend looks like cut+shut wrapped with something :?
