Intermittent Spotlight

I have a room with 7 spotlights which are controlled by a 3 gang switch. One switch controls 2 spotlights, the other 4 and 1 final spotlight with one switch. The one spotlight on its own stopped working today so I assumed it was the bulb and have just replaced it with a new led one.

Now when I switch this one bulb on, the first time it doesn't work. If I then switch it on and off a few times it comes on and stays on. At this point If I then turn it on and off quickly the light will come on and off again as normal, pretty instantaneous. However If I leave it for just a couple seconds in the off position again I have the same issue that it doesn't come on unless I flick the switch multiple times.

The other two switches and all the other spotlights work fine.

Is this a classic symptom of a switch coming to the end of its useful life? I guessed it might be but then couldn't fathom why it was able to turn on and off at will once it has been on for a while?

Hope that makes some sense, any clues appreciated.

It could be a switch wearing out or dirty contacts or possibly a loose wire - something not quite right.

It could be the lamp, the switch, or an intermittent wiring issue. The only way to find out, is to swap the lamp, then the switch.

if the bulbs are 12v the transformers may not be compatible with LEDs

And it sounds like the LV Cable needs replacing too
