IP44 downlighters necessary in a bathroom?

In a bathroom with no shower or water jets is it still preferable to use IP44 SELV downlighters due to being better proteted from moisture, etc than std SELV downlighters? I'm thinking along the lines of lamps blowing less regularly?

Just weighing up whether it is worth paying double for IP44 SELV ones to go in a bathroom when std SELV ones would suffice.

Are you thinking of putting them directly above a bath or shower? this is best avoided as it simplifies compliance.

Two of them will probably be above the bath although I haven't measured it out yet. Even if they were they'd be 2.4m above the floor and no likliness of water jets in the area, so Zone 2 which only demands SELV or 230V with suitable IP rating backed up by RCD? Or am I wrong there?

I'm just debating whether it is worthwhile fitting IP44's SELV in a moist/warm environment over std SELV's, considering the price difference.

I would fit IP44's anyway. They will stop all that moisture streaming up into the loft.
