I currently have one of these outdoor double sockets in my garden

http://www.screwfix.com/p/bg-nexus-13a-2g-dp-switched-socket/67928

on the information for the double socket it says its IP66 water and dust protection.

Now i have a UVC 5W pond uv light that cleans the water and this states its IP68

I'm guessing this is fine to be plugged into this double socket? and its just something to do with water and dust prevention.

Any help would be great as my pond water is turning green :(

Thanks

The socket is suitable for the external environment, and will protect any plug inserted in it from very harsh wet conditions and the pond light is protected against submersion under pressure.

So yes you will have no issues using this socket, to plug in this electrical item, for the use intend.
