anyone have any knowledge on iphones?

mine got smashed today. (screen totalled) it lights up whenh you ring it.

and yes not insured!!!

any ideas on how much the lil b**gers are to get replacement lcd screens?

Don't know much about the workings of your average iPhone, but it looks like it's about 25 quid on this site??

though that doesn't include the touch mechanism or the back plate - dunno if you need that.

Does your house insurance not cover it? I've claimed one of my phones off the house insurance (when it fell in a bucket of water!)

not an iphone4 is it? I know of 3 other people that have smashed their screen on their 4, having had older versions before, the 4 seems to be more prone to damage???

Breakage is more of a problem with capacitive screens than resistive ones.

Ive seen replacement screens on ebay, and you tube tutorials on how to replace them, I guess it depends how adventurous you are, but Id probably prefere to give it a go than spend out on a new one.
