Not at all convinced that this attack is the complete success Trumpf makes out. If it was that simple it would have been done 30 plus years ago when they were within a few years of a developing the bomb. Not looking forward to the inflationary surge on fuel prices and everything else.

maybe an increase in oil price is part of the bonus to the plan so that US fracking oil can become viable again
In Trumps first term he got OPEC to raise production in an attempt to get gasoline prices down.
During Bidens term Trump negotiated with OPEC to cut production and so increasing prices.
In Trumps latest term he has been negotiating with OPEC to increase production to lower prices.
Where do you think increasing oil prices fits in with his strategy?

The eye rainians have announced they're going to close the straights of Hormuz.
Oddly the country that hurts most is China - they take a lot from there.
The oil price ficked and is up about 2.5%, which isn't much. If Iran puts mine-layers out they'll doubtless hit the bottom of the gulf.
If they go for US airbases in the area, then Trump will have reason to remove all Iran's ballistics and most of the rest. Their subs sent 30 Tomahawks.
But there's so much more Iran can DO to the USA. I'm glad we didn't let them use Diego Garcia or similar.
