Iran

Lets just hope that Iran doesn't get nuclear weapons, if those missiles that hit Tel Aviv last night had been carrying nuclear warheads instead of conventional ones, the outcome would have been too horrific to contemplate.
They will redouble their efforts, maybe even go for broke.

Copy and pasted.

A study published in the Journal of Conflict Resolution in 2009 quantitatively evaluated the nuclear peace hypothesis and found support for the existence of the stability-instability paradox. The study determined that nuclear weapons promote strategic stability and prevent large-scale wars but simultaneously allow for more low intensity conflicts. If a nuclear monopoly exists between two states, and one state has nuclear weapons and its opponent does not, there is a greater chance of war. In contrast, if there is mutual nuclear weapon ownership with both states possessing nuclear weapons, the odds of war drop precipitously.

So it seems the smart thing would be to let Iran have nukes, then there would be less war and unnecessary death.
I would say that this is a good counter argument under normal conditions and under a sensible government, this is Iran that we are talking about here. Might as well include Isis or allowing Hamas holding them as a deterent. You would just know the outcome.

Do you think Israel has a sensible government?
Netanyahu is by far the most crazy person in this situation.
We've all had that mate that likes to shoot his mouth off and start fights, knowing that his mates will jump in and help him.
At some point the friends get fed up with it and walk away.

I think that Israel had the moral high ground at the start of this war. I think the support for Israel is now waining and is becoming increasingly difficult to defend Israel's actions. I do agree that Israel is attacking Iran for the right reasons.

Iran would like to see the destruction of Isreal. They are building significant weapons to achieve this goal, in breach of international agreements.

If someone says, I'm going to kill you, I'm off to get a gun. Do you wait until he comes back with one?

I don't think that's realistic, although it makes for good propaganda.

If Iran Nukes Israel, America nukes Iran... you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work that one out.

Full details are not clear yet but it seems the Israelis did substantial damage to Iranians arms producing factories, possibly where drones are made.
Iran will need all the drones it can get it's hands on to continue strikes against Israel.
This might be a problem for the Russians.

The more I read the more impressed I am with the accuracy of the Israeli strikes. Exclusively targeting military sites and also taking out very senior personnel where they live.

Iran in the meantime just fire at civilian areas.

There is some truth in that but people/politicians of whatever background don’t rise to the giddy heights of power with a death wish. It would be suicidal for Irann to seek Israel’s destruction in this way. Having a big weapon gives a sense of security.

Peaceful leaders and non threatening countries are safe to have such weapons. Countries such as Iran and North Korea should not have them, they wouldn't be considered as safe.
Your idea of a 'safe country' is rather odd...

It includes the only country to have used a nuclear weapon, a country committing genocide, and more than one involving themselves in illegal wars...

And since you don't mention russia, you must think of them as 'safe'

The justification for countries who have nuclear weapons is that they are a 'deterrent'...

If it's ok for a genocidal country to have them, why not any country wanting to deter such aggression allowed to have the same?
