They all strike me as a scheme to benefit those behind it rather than the man on the tools or the customer looking to get a job done.

I don't work in domestic but a few people I know who are very successful and have diaries booked out for 18 months or more say they don't bother with any of it, if you're good enough you don't need to.

I suppose that's it, word of mouth will deliver the work.
