1996 build, 10mm from MET to 30A JB, two outgoing 10mm to a kitchen sink and a utility sink.
Main water bonded elsewhere.
Same property (PME) had its main earthing conductor originating from an earth rod. Ze was 184 ohms - split load CU with half of the circuits without RCD protection!
PEB's (water and gas) terminated at the MET along with a 16mm main earth from the PME service head. Ze at MET was 0.24 ohms.
The 16mm from the earth rod to CU passed by the MET so I cut the cable and terminated both in the MET.
It seems to me that it's a TT converted to PME without the earthing being corrected at the time.
You know, there is no Reg that says a bonding conductor has to be unbroken.
However the assumption here is that in the event of fault current circulating in the bonds, the 30A rating of the junction box won't be exceeded for any length of time.
Yes I know though if I was going to extend a protective bonding conductor then it would only be by compression (10mm uninsulated crimp) and not a screwed terminal.
There's also the problem of poor connection. The terminal screw was in place by a single thread due to excessive amount of copper.
