Is a dongle powerful enough?

I am moving to a flat and I want to have an internet connection. I don't need it too often. Just 2 hours in the evenings and then on the weekends. I'll only be checking emails and watching an hour or 2 of streaming video. Will a dongle handle that or will it be buffering on the streamed video? Can anyone recommend a particular strength dongle which could handle it or will I have to bite the bullet and get broadband? Cheers.

How long is a piece of string.

It will all depend upon the connection speeds you get etc where you are.
You could have a really good connection, get 4g and have good streaming.
Or it could be carp.

I suspect that you might just need to check the ISP's coverage in that area and try it on a dongle.

As above it will also depend upon the provider and your location to their coverage.

I have a vodophone and O2 phone (work and personal). Where I live the O2 phone gets 24mbits a second and 50ms ping (wahey), vodaphone barely manages 3g and drops randomly.

At work it is the complete opposite way around.
