Danny Baker is saying that he didn't mean it to compare a black baby to a monkey; he said that if it was Boris Johnson who'd had the baby he'd still have put the same picture up.
I give him the benefit of the doubt. He is not known for racism is he?
I like Danny Baker, though am not a huge fan. He is very interesting on old films and music, but tends to waffle too much and likes the sound of his own voice - but that's my only complaint. He is quite entertaining, especially when in conversation on the radio.
Being entertaining is probably the real reason the BBC want rid of him. You have to be a certain "type" to be on the BBC nowadays - entertainment doesn't matter to them any more; it is simply a propaganda outlet.
