Is it expensive to replace a garden fence with a brick wall?

Our fence and posts need replacing and I'm tempted by one of those half wall / half fence types where the wall is about 3 foot tall with a short fence panel on top withthe fence panels separated by capped brick turrets if that makes any sense?

I've no idea whatsoever of how much it costs to build brick walls.

Are they typically quoted by the foot or meter? The amount of bricks?

Has anyone had one build who could give me even a very rough guide as to cost, i.e so much per equivelent 6' fence panel or whatever?

I just want to know whether it's an option.

Thanks

no idea of cost

in order for a wall to sty up, it has to have footings along its entire length, this means a lot of digging the pouring of concrete.

new fence will only need holes dug for fence posts and concreating

which do you think will be cheaper?

Use concrete posts with 3x 12" concrete gravel boards.

Then paint it all brick red

a typical twin skin (215mm) thick wall at 1.8m high is approximately 6 times the material cost of posts and panel equivalent.

the labour costs are approximately 3-4 times as much.
