Is my boiler fitted correctly?

Hi there, living in a new build flat. Kitchen always freezing - paid for thermal imaging/air tightness test and failed! One issue is apparently how the boiler is fitted. There is a whole in the ceiling and no insulation on pipes (my neighbours have this). Unsure how to correct. Builder wants to just put up plaster board but surely insulation is needed.

Please help dreading another winter

Plasterboard should be fine for the hole in the ceiling. I’d be more worried about the flue elbow

yep stop using the boiler immediately the elbow is not connected correctly to the boiler possibility of fumes that can kill

What he said ^^^^. Also being a flat, a possible risk of migration if anyone above you because of that gap. How old is the new build? Is it landlord or owner occupied? Might need to have a carbon monoxide alarm fitted.

The building is only 18 months old. I bought off plan

Might be worth advising the other residents in the block too, in case theirs need checking.

contact the builder immediately if they even attempt to tell you they are not organising someone to attend today tell them you are contacting the HSE regards the RIDDOR on the boiler installation
