Is planning permission needed (small storage area)

Hi all,


Do i need to have planning permission for adding a garage door and frame to the front and a wooden frame to the other sides with a door at the back, it will be 10ft long x8 ft wide. It will be a storage area not garage the garge door will be for show 8)

You don't need permission to convert unless there is a specific condition on the original permission for the house requiring you to keep it as a carport or otherwise preventing a conversion to a garage.

It does not matter what you call it

Got another question on the one side would it be common practice to shiplap clad the whole area or is there something else for shiplap cladding alternative. :?:

Building regulations will probably apply, and if the side of this new garage/store is within 1m of the boundary, then it will need to be build of something that wont burn if there was a fire.

Cheers for the info, not sure what to do then, what about build brick wall on that side only or is planning permision needed for the brickwork :?: or is plastic cladding ok :idea:
