No. Plug wires are staying brown/blue/green&yellow
 
I cant see what difference the colours make, to making it easier. You still need a screw driver & cutters. :lol:
 
what has changed is that the colors of fixed wiring have changed to match those used in plugs.

there are some other issues with the change but they only effect 3 phase so your unlikely to meet them.

The colours of the house wiring has changed from black and red to blue and brown recently, appliance flexes changed from red/black/green to brown/blue/greenyellow in the late 60s/early-mid 70s.

A lot have therefore said that the cable colour changes are long overdue.

Thats not quite correct.

We do not have a negative in AC systems.

Also the cores of a 3C&E can be used for what ever you like, providing it is sleeved apropriatly.

It may be three phases, or 2 lives and a neutral etc.
