Received order of 8ftx4ft marine plywood for timber framing,
There is a gash out of one side of it going through the top layer and into the 2nd layer about 12inches by 2inches.
Is this unnacceptable (as im feeling) or am i being overly neurotic.
Should i return it ? All advice appreciated.

I would certainly expect better quality when buying MARINE ply.

Where was it sourced from [manufactured]?

Hopefully, it's not a cheaper import but looking at that quality, it could be..

I wouldn't be happy with that IMHO.

Not allowed under the marine plywood standard.

Is it stamped BS 1088 as well, can't see any edge markings (also a requirement of marine ply).

It's clearly damaged. It depends what you are using it for and whether that area is exposed or not, as to of its returned or used.

Marine ply seems OTT for framing

Thaks for replies - youve confirmed how i felt that its not acceptable.
the cert mark was another thing i was concerned about , just less concerned than the damage - its illegible - here's apic

i will return it.
Thanks for feedback - much appreciated.
This came from my local timber merchant. Marine ply is probably ott , i think i may just as well get wbp from B&Q.

To what use will you put this in your construction?
