Hi there,
We added scraping and pointing of our chimney to our list of works.
The pointer turned up at 12:15 and left at 14:30. He did not bring an angle-grinder or anything to scrape with up. He did three sides of our chimney. We approached him on the subject of him not having scraped at all. He indicated it had been worn down so far, that it did not need scraping. Although it had some deep wear in places we had the caps put on the chimney last year, and it did not seem in a bad state then. The people we asked about overcoming the damp-problem did mention pointing the chimney, but nobody said it was in a poor state.
We are concerned about the pointing, because we fear that a poor job may leave us with the same damp problem we had in the past. If not now, then in the near future.
We could tell by looking from our garden that there is quite a bit of cement used.
Are these pictures and our story enough to say that this is a good job or not a good job?
Thanks for your time.
