Quick question chaps...Is it gonna be ok to connect a lighting feed in a 30A terminal block for 2/3 weeks while my decorating is being done? My brother in law done it because i wont touch electrics and said he only had 30 A connectors rather then 5A. They wont be touched or moved just worried about a fire...is it ok? is protected by a 5A MCB or it should be shouldnt it, or am i missing something (Again)

TIA

That is fine.

As long as the current rating of the connectors is greater than or equal to the rating of the protective device (fuse) then it will be fine.

Thought so..Just wanted to make sure before my heart gave way :D thanks for putting my mind at ease RF 8)

sorry, just thought of another question while im about, why is there different size blocks then (rating wise)... why dont they just do a large size? is it just physical size that determines use?

You are right.

The physical size of say a 60A connector would be too large to fit behind a switch for example.

& you'd have great difficulty trying to terminate 1mm2 wire in a 60A connector
