A friend of mine showed me the mains set up in a house he has just bought.
There was a metal clad box containing the main incomer and mains fuse. The main fuse box tails came out of the bottom of the box and into the fuse box. Coming out of the top of the box were tails to the meter and a separate set of tails to a breaker supplying the garage. The seal had been broken and so we had a look inside. There was a Henley Block type set up with live incomer, fuse box, garage and meter all connected to the block.
How does the meter accurately monitor the electricity usage bearing in mind everything is wired in parallel?
