Is this ok for cutting blinds?

Use a small sharp handsaw, I’ve also done it successfully with aviation snips. Don’t use a chop saw

Blup

I've cut a few wooden ones down with the chop saw, a decent blade is needed, I do them in stacks and a piece of scrap wood under the bottom lat helps prevent splintering. For the aluminium ones, I've only ever had IKEA and they sell a little trimming tool.

Yeah, I have used the cheapy Ikea tool in the past for the thin metal ones. I works but is really slow given that you have to do each slat one by one.

Wooden ones, I put in my Nobex Champion (manual) frame saw. I cut about 6" depth of slats and then move on to the next 6 inches. Each 6" is clamped and so there is minimal chipping.
