Is viessmann really worth that much more ?

Jaysus is that you? You look like a spotty faced kid.. with a beard.
I thought you had some experience.
What causes your constant bitterness towards the professionals on here?
I would imagine if you were to refrain from 'googling' for a week we wouldn't hear from you..:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Hi,

had some great help so far and had my mind set on a viessmann 200W 35kw boiler, the range is a bit confusing but with weather comp etc and latest B model it comes in a nigh on £1650 with flue.

An intergas combi compact eco rf 36 comes in at around £1200 all in (with flue)

Both seem to be cracking and capable boilers so am I justified in paying £450 more for veissmann, not really sure how much more worth it it can be?
Am I buying ford focus vs rolls royce or focus vs a shiny focus !.

They both seem to do the same job quite adequately, intergas parts maybe cheaper but I would expect both to last for a while before needing them? Have I missed something.

As always to the guys who give time I appreciate your responses and input,
PG

I won't touch Baxi btw, awful experiences with their boilers.
OMG!! The Veissmann has more rubber hose than my Granny's washing machine!!!!!!!
Like most German boilers, grossly overpriced!!!

Well, I've been in the Trade a long time & never had a bad experience with a Baxi appliance!! I had a bad experience with a lassie that worked in their Typing Pool, but it was a cold night & Id had too much to drink.
C'mon, we've all been there!!

so how did you decide how much experience he had by how he looks  , why don't you show yourself so we all can guess how much intelligence you have ....
he has much more experience you could ever wish to have ;),and yes without googling :ROFLMAO:

Nah - that's the new 35kW. primaries split just to the right of my head into 2 x 28mm circuits.

These are the 2 leaky 60kW bad boys. Flanges and bellows leaking all over the place.

It's fairly big.... but not big enough to need it all - consultant went slightly OTT, as they all do. The money being wasted on behalf of customers engaging these companies is incredible.

Pricing 2 or three up at the moment and the specifications are frankly ludicrous. Even had a pump manufacturer on the phone today trying to make sense of a design - chap went "yeah we love these consultants".

No schit....

£7K's worth of glorified shower pumps in a house with 5 people. Mental.

Got a doozy running at the moment.... All acoustic waste specified - silly expensive, hard to get and needs special installation methods.... None of which has been allowed for by the architect. So pipes are running through joists, soil ducts not being enough for the special clips; so no isolation from the structure.

Plus they don't do swept tees, just regular branches painted a funky colour and triple the price.

SO the whole exercise is pointless.

One of my customers went for a 35kw viessmann 200 about 5.5 years ago.

Some minor issues sorted under warranty.

Boxing day he has a house full of visiting family - hears a dull thud from downstairs at 8.00AM and finds the utility room partly flooded. Quality rubber hose on expensive German boiler has split.
His chistmas ruined and mine too as I had to run around trying to find parts - which isn't easy.
No fixed price repairs available either because viessmann were too busy with warranty calls

Don't buy viessmann because the quality isn't what it should be and spares.are very hard to get and cost an absurd amount of money.

Only exception is the vitodens 100 compact which is a decent boiler and one i would recommend.

My old merchant moved to a new business unit at the time Viessmann entered the domestic market around 10 years ago. The whole unit was knitted out with Viessmann boilers and solar....maybe a deal was done. The boiler has been nothing but trouble...needless to say few Viessmanns were sold anymore round there. The Germans are screwing the World over with their sub standard products...many German products are anything but German...filled with cheap imported parts of poor quality.

Thanks to everyone for their input, it helped me quite a bit.

My final choice between 2 boilers is just down to availability (and firm pricing) that are nigh on identical price and performance, I think one edges the other for reliability, one edges for efficiency but its neither here nor there now, so close I doubt I'll regret either.
Intergas Combi Compact ECO RF 36 or Atag A-series A325ECX combi boiler.

The viessmann looks nice but not what I need i.e good looking trophy boiler that promises a lot but v high maintenance ... I married one of them and look where that got me !

Come here you little ATAG wench ..

Edit : I need to get out more..

Viessman are OK but unless you have a spotlessly clean system I wouldnt fit one they hate dirty systems
