China could have been in with a shout but they stupidly borrowed from the banks to finance their expansion.
Now they are as precarious as anyone else despite positive economic growth.

Its all about oil.
When the petrodollar system collapses, the dollar collapses.
Iran, Syria and North Korea want rid of the petrodollar system hence why they are labelled the axis of evil and are open to be bullied.
China and Russia are moving away from the dollar but too big to be bullied by greedy Americans.
That's what the Iraq war was all about some might say...........

Throughout history, many major wars have been caused - ultimately - by trade rivalry.
Remember the old addage that a prosperous Germany was less of a threat than an economically depressed Germany, as history showed.
It could be the same with China if economic growth stalls. The people get restless through unemployment and to stop unrest, the dictators in charge find an excuse for a war (Taiwan? Japan?) to bring their people together. Give it 5 to 10 years.
The planet can support about 2 billion people tops.

Nah... 43 nukes landing on major Chinese cities.. war over before it starts. Hiroshima was pivotal to current war politics.
Countries will be slightly more guarded.... your benchmark will be North korea... watch how that pans out... Kim Jong Un will flex his muscles for so long, but the military powers that be will stop him in his tracks once he kicks off !
2 billion Americans.. no chance.![]()
