Syria. Bomb or not to bomb?

The good guys will know exactly where Assam is 24/7. We need a missile with his name on it (accidentally of course) to go astray.

It's a mess.

Exactly, and the 'Free Syrian Army' will morph into something just as bad as all the other factions.

And if it's a mess, why are we getting involved? If you see a pile of dog turd on the ground, you don't deliberately step into it.
France, UK and the others are ultimately being dragged into this mess because the Neo-Cons in the US are determined to
thwart Russia in whatever it does, even if what the Russians are doing is actually reasonable.

You can't defeat Assad until you defeat Russia and Iran.

There was a vote to bomb him a couple of years ago. Then we flip-flopped and want to bomb IS/DAESH/ISIS/ISIL? FFS how can we have an enemy whose name we can't even agree on? It's an ideology and cannot be defeated by bombing, but we can inspire others to take up the cause in the name of Islam.

This ideology isn't just confined to the Middle East, it's a worldwide problem that will grow and grow, they've proved this by marching through a number of countries already.
Whether we poke the hornet's nest or not we are at threat, id rather swat a few before being stung.

There was an interview with the ex squaddie that went to fight Isis, what he saw would be enough to convince most that Isis needs exterminating and soon.

Those that choose to ignore or underestimate the threat level are just as dangerous as Isis, one occesion where "I told you so" will be after hundreds more are slaughtered, how many more have to die before people understand we need to go on the offensive?

Assad may be a dictator, but he speaks perfect English, and wears a suit.
The Middle East needs people like him and Morsi to keep the lid on the Islamists, instead of them being
governed by religious fanatics with spit-ridden beards and cloaks.

So did Gadaffi and Saddam. So why did we unseat them?

maybe I am seeing this wrong??
ex military top brass and indeed many current military, politicians , war analysts are all calling for a boots on the ground assault on IS, but the big question is whose feet in them boots??
now maybe I am missing atrick here but most of august and Septembers news was focussed on migrants escaping the terrible events and the threat of IS in there homeland... so here lies a possible two birds with one stone!! conscript the young fit male migrants, house and train them in battle and warfare and then support them in liberating there on homeland of yhis ridiculous IS regime.
think it through carefully and you might find it hard to fault!!

Well we're doing it anyway...

I tend to think it's a bit pointless unless the whole region is turned to glass and we don't have the stomach for that and so on it goes.

Obviously an all out annihilation methinks.......
Methinks the opposite. Better to draw the extremist out of Uk and the rest of the EU countries to Syria rather than them festering here.
What a terrible thing to say!!
We just give them a kissy cuddle, tell them they are naughty boys and please don't do it again.
Were you not aware that it's completely out of order to be harsh on a terrorist?

You forgot the bit where we admit it was all our fault, and apologise for one of our cavemen offending one of their cavemen, several millennia ago.

Exactly; why should we waste money and lives fighting in their homeland, while they are over here lording it and demanding this, that and the other in benefits?

Easy solution. Close our borders to these "immigrants" now. Cameron could do it. We're not party to the Schengen Agreement, so we could theoretically stop these people ever setting foot in this sceptred isle. Send them back to the country they arrive here from (Hollande won't be happy with that,, and you can bet your life Merkel will be positively apoplectic)

The first Tornado strikes were on an oil refinery. When you degrade the infrastructure of a country then you make it impossible for ordinary people to survive there, hence another wave of refugees heads west in the hope of reaching northern Europe. Considering it is our fault they are refugees then we have to take them all in. Well done warmongers.
