Isolation switch

1) They won't do the work, as they are your side of the meter, and all that needs doing is for them to be taken out of your CU and put into the isolator. They will come and remove the fuse to allow the tails to be worked on and then replace and reseal it later.

What happens during a routine meter change if there is no isolator?

Do the REC/Supplier pull the tails out of the meter, replace the meter and then tell customer to call a spark to wire the tails in the new meter?
I can't believe the REC/Suppl would not stick the tails back in.

Yup - they will take the tails out of their old meter, and put them into their new meter.

What they won't do, AFAIK, is to remove the tails from your CU and put longer ones in, or move them into your isolation switch because you have moved your CU.

And if they were prepared to do that you'd balk at the price...
