Hi guys,

New kitchen is almost in.

The electrician has put in isolators for all of the appliances except the larder fridge and freezer.

These are hard wired in behind the fridges themselves so no access.

Is there a building regulation that says isolation must be provided?

Does it matter without them?

Thanks

Out of interest, are the appliances free-standing, or integrated built-in ones?

I found my fridge/freezer would turn down on built in controls but not off, since frost free rare want to switch off, but with socket behind it impossible to switch off without pulling it out from the wall, and even empty it's heavy, have had earth leakage problems with fridge/freezers so double pole isolator is good, if only to test if freezer is or is not the problem.

But nothing to say you must have it.
