The criminal justice system they have just been on about it on the radio

Thousands of cases awaiting trial

Some bloke has been on remand for 4 years awaiting trial

The entire system is a mess those in charge need a kick up the arris imo

The civil system is a joke imo as well
Court offices shut down .

Oh that's just the same old problem.
Everyone "needs" more money, and nobody's any good at their job. Broken Britain, 2022.

You may mean this one: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...ng-four-years-in-leicester-jail-without-trial
I imagine judges think he'll be guilty and get a much longer stretch than 4 years so it "doesn't matter". Revolting.
His potential guilt or innocence is no excuse for being held in prison for over 4 years without trial.
On the one hand, what if he's innocent? His life, and that of his family, has been totally ruined.
And on the other hand what about the potentially guilty, that are out on bail for a similar amount of time.

It's another example of a broken system in the UK.

If proper punishments were used (including the death penalty) there wouldn't be court backlogs as all the villains would be off the streets.

has that ever happened ? Even when death senteces were issued, was there no crime or crimi nals?

but I think it's been covered before. You probably have poor memory, which must affect your thoughts and comments
