Man to challenge attack sentence.

All very poignant, I'm sure.

However, if someone breaks into my house then it should be my right to deal with them as I feel fit. After all, noone forced them to. Whether you consider my actions to be retributionist or utilitarian is of no importance.

Quid pro quo.

Well now, this must add to the debate:

Female armed robber stripped, beaten and set alight by angry lynch mob.

Stripped naked to the waist, she begs for mercy as she is savagely beaten by a lynch mob in the middle of the street.

Alejandra Maria Torres was part of an armed gang that tried to rob bus passengers in Guatemala City.

But as she tried to escape the passengers stripped and beat her before dousing her in petrol and setting her alight.

Police put out the flames and arrested her. Her three companions escaped.

Lynchings are common in Guatemala. In the last year, mobs have attacked more than 250 people, leaving at least 40 of them dead.

Criminals are a frequent target but officials are sometimes attacked, including a judge who issued a rape verdict thought by the public to be too lenient.

The practice stems from the civil war of 1960 to 1996 when civil defence patrols carried out many of the murders in the state-sponsored genocide of Left-wing rebels, many of them peasants.

About 200,000 people died.

With reference to Mod 11's post. Let's keep it all kosha please lads. It's Christmas after all! :)

Female armed robber .... begs for mercy.

Would she have given her potential victims any mercy?
The only problem I have with this is the use of valuable fossil fuel.

Serves her right.

I have to say, I realise you cannot see her back but for someone who has allegedly been 'doused in petrol and set alight' she seem remarkably unscathed.

shameful pictures removed

this thread is at risk of being locked or removed.

how is it shamefull unless, thats the way you MOD 11 actually think?
there are people intent on declaring they think its right to take the law into their own hands.
lynching tar and feathers are the resort of the lawless mob.
why is showing posters where they heading shamefull?
I dont find it shamefull, its disgusting, tasteless yes but Im sure the victims experienced those feelings too.
so what are we looking at here? a mod who supports the idea of mob justice, but cant look the results in the face? or just someone who really, (being a mod myself) is a weak hypercrite.

I'll illustrate whats shamefull, your actions or inactions regarding imprinting your narrow view point on this thread.
the whole of this text now will be emailed to the site owner, this time you have over stepped the mark.

mod 11 - even though I clearly disagree with WDIK regarding the ongoing discussion, the pictures posted were indeed poignant and a strong and inoffensive evidence base in support of WDIK's argument.

I can understand that some may have found them upsetting, but there was no need for you to threaten locking the thread.

You were bang out of order, to be honest.

Who were the people who were hung? Who was the black dude? ****a kinte?
Was this the work of a lynch mob or british imperialist war mongers?
And what does it have to do with people fighting back and protecting themselves in their own homes when attacked?

KKK american mob justice, the tar and feathering was most prominent in another country, north ireland, tied to lamp posts, knee capped, favourite terror weapons of the protestants mob justice

But we're not talking about mob justice - just the right for an individual to deal with someone who has invaded their own space and threatened themselves, their family and the material goods that the person has acquired through the use of his/her own time on this planet to gain.

mob is as in, collective misinformed reactionary, response usually elicited by red top papers, appealing to those who will induldge. in gratuitous worship of minor nobodies, revelling in the morass of garbage drven media hype, which seems to motivate, all the epsillon zero's, who mindlessly subscribe, to the brain numbing drivel, that is the media
