It's only a matter of time...

Good value, IMHO.

Like our Monarchy. (y)
The EU was a good deal, but we've left it now and we can't repair the damage that did quickly, or possibly ever. And the EU would never let us back in without some confidence that we aren't going to try to leave if Farage starts ranting again.

Our monarchy is a complicated bespoke tax avoidance system.

Agree.
Our monarchy is a complicated bespoke tax avoidance system.
Whether it is or it is not, brings in c. £1.7 billion more than it costs.
GREAT value. (y)

brings this money from where ? And where does it go ?

if it was truly self financing it wouldn't need any money from the public purse.

Oh dear, Tourism brings in well over a billion a year.

This obviously is not paid to the Monarchy directly.

There is some concern that the passing of Queen Elizabeth will have an adverse effect on monies generated.

The castles and artwork would also bring in tourists, without the expense of the monarchy.

Just for starters.........

And where does it go ?

Wherever those visitors bought a memento, a coffee, a lunch, rested their head, sat in a taxi..........

Non-sequitor, and who says the monarchy needs the money?
It is more cost effective and efficient for HM gov. to sub the monarchy and then recoup that money - in spades - from the businesses and individuals who benefitted, via usual and established routes (taxation).
