I've got my shiny new router- now what do I do?

I've just bought a Origo ASR-8400 ADSL router. I've got all instructions etc but they don't mean a thing to me. I've tried setting it up, but can't get on the net.

I'm on AOL which I've heard can cause problems, can anyone point me in the right direction?

How far have you got with the setup?

I'm not familiar with this router, but will help if I can find an online manual. In the meantime, check out this site, which seems to have a lot of info about this router and AOL.

Thanks Ignorian - that link was a great help. Basically the key was to delete the AOL software from my PC first then just default settings on the router have worked. Needed to put full log in details for ISP ie [email protected] rather than just 12345 which is what yI had to do on another modem I had once.

Just need to try and get my laptop connected as well now, and then I'm away - hoorah!

Brilliant! Just connected the CAT 5 and it picked up an IP address and straight onto internet!

Stephen, can you access all the sites, ie, EBay-Messnger.
If not then you'll have to alter tour MTU setting to 1400.
