Hi,

We've had an engineer come through who has recommended a JAB DUC to replace our existing cylinder. I've researched them online but haven't found much on them, nor any reviews. One of the main reasons he's recommended it over other brands is because the dimensions of the closet where it goes are somewhat constrained. We wouldn't be able to fit a Megaflo or Telford in there.

Has anyone had any experience with these? I know there's not too much to them because we'd be getting an indirect model, but the lack of reviews or feedback that I could find is somewhat worrying. Thanks!

Iirc the (JAB) item mentioned is a telford tempest ss unvented cylinder either slimline or standard diameter. There may be some cosmetic changes like colour, labels etc

There an ok item but confirm that with your installer,he should know :D

JAB are OK, Joule are better... Try them to see what sizes they do... IIRC they also do bespoke.

Any other reviews of JAB DUC? Our engineer insists on installing it, but I can't find much information about them online.
Are they reliable? What's after-sale support like, warranty etc. ?

Appreciate any information on the topic.

I am experiencing the same thing! Our old cylinder is from PulsaCoil, I see the replacement for PulsaCoil, but the builder said they install JAB but I really did not see comments and reviews of this cylinder, maybe they are cheaper or have good business connections with some builders

Speaking to JAB may not be very helpful, they would only say the positive things about their product. Even after 5 years, you see, we still do not have further reviews of this brand at this DIY forum.

Personally,

I use jab for budget (landlords etc)
Joule for higher end.
If I was putting in a new boiler and cylinder, these days I'd be using same brand for both with same brand controls so... Vaillant boiler then vaillant cylinder and vaillant controls and it'd be PDHW.
