Hi here's a challenge - does anyone have any experience with these machines , mine's a 525-58 . The power steering keeps going very stiff and i think there might be a priority valve somewhere which may not be functioning properly but i can't find it! ( if it exists). The hydraulic pump seems fine as it lifts well even at tickover. or maybe i should look at the danfoss steering valve? Any ideas welcome before i get arms like a weight lifter!

Bit new for me, but on the older 3cx's etc a change of fluid would probably help.
Some of them used to have a little filter in the system too.

its got a seperate steering pump useing the same oil as the main hydralic pump

I dived into the hydraulic tank ( not literally) and found there are 3 pick up pipes obviously feeding oil to 3 pumps anyway they have strainers fitted and these strainers had disintegrated and parts of them had partially blocked one of the pipes - i presume it was the one supplying the power steering because having cleaned it all out ( and fitted new strainers ) everything seems to be working fine! Thank you everyone for your help :D
