Seven years after fitting a radiator system, I've finally got around to removing the warm air unit from the garage.

Before I leave it out for the scrap men, I wondered if it had any second hand value?
Apparently it was only a few years old prior to me disconnecting it

DOn't see why not. A lot of small industrial workshops use them.

Few of them are being installed now.

But its quite possible a better value would be obtained by selling the heat exchanger from it on its own as they often hole and are quite expensive to buy a replacement, well over £100 I seem to recall.

I sold a unit that had been installed for 3 weeks for £300.

That is a 300% discount.

Frankly, a 7 yr old unit is not going to cost in unless someone fits it themselves - which is unlikely. There are only a minority of WAU qualified fitters, and we (for instance) wouldn't take on the fitting of a 7yr old of unknown provenance.

If it's on an estate full of similar units you could sell the fan, but after 7 yrs this won't be A1......

That is right. They don't have ductwork and have them just open with the flue connected through the wall. A neat way of heating a workshop. They warm up the places fast enough. Even if the heat exchanger gets holed, it wouldn't make much difference if the area is large and well vented.

It might be worth printing flyers and posting them to all the small industrial units around. Many would pay £100 for it.
