As some of you may know, I am doing my ensuite.

I was thinking of using plasterboard in the shower area and then tanking it with BAL WP1, but I am not wondering if it will be easier, or maybe cheaper, to use Aquapanel on these 3 bits of wall.

Anyone got any ideas or comments on this?

Also, how should I joint Aquapanel? Instructions say leave a 3mm or so gap and use flex tiling adhesive with AP tape - but then they also sell AP joint adhesive too!

Thanks

I always use a backer board & tile direct. Obviously make sure any joins are fully supported over a stud or noggin. I usually just tape the joins (plaster reinforcing tape) & skim/fill the joint with flexible tile adhesive as I go but you can also run a bead of silicone into the gap first; make sure you don’t get silicone over the face of the boards or the tile adhesive won’t stick very well. Also make sure the tile joints don’t coincide with the joints in the backer boards!
