Hi all,
A neighbour has used a grey paint or sealant along the joint where his house meets the pavement.

It shows no sign of plants growth and seems like new after at least 5 years.

I want some!!
What is this compound? Best brands? Is there anything wrong with using this?

Simple answer is to ask him but I would only get one brand or recommendation with no caveats.

Any help please?

Polymer mastic like CT1 and you can get in colours.
Maybe that was used

Ask them then come back here for options. If you think it might be a paint, it’s probably not a cartridge gun applied thing like CT1

Yeah, great neighbour - "Cant remember, but I got it installed by the guy who did my flat roof". I cannot even detect tooling marks to guess if it was a mastic or a paint. But, it is THICK.

Can someone have a look at this and tell me what kind of exterior sealant or caulk is usable here.

One make is CT1 as Wayners advises, any more bids before I go and stick myself to the steps? I wonder if that Sika Resin grout might be an option, but is it flexible?

Pic for tittilation - it is NorthEast Facing, and the side of the house would be running Northeast to SouthWest.
