Hi at the min we have a hob,is it possible to put a junction box between the feed fro the switch, and tee off one to the hob & the other to cooker?

what kind of cooker is it? please be specific - HOB, COOKER, OVEN. Three different things.

And What fuel does it use? An what is its electreical rating?

Hi Sorry should have said, oven is a Zanussi single oven which will fit under hob in a 600mm unit

OK, given its a single oven, it probably comes with a flex and a plug (unless you already have it and it hasnt).

If its electrical rating is below 3kw, 3000w, 13A, you can put a plug on it and plug it in.

The socket for the oven can be taken as a "spur" from the cooker circuit usually, as this can then be isolated using the cooker switch. Junction box shouldnt be nessecary. Its far tidyer to do something like this:

doesnt it depend on the cable, fuse and what hob it is currently?

plus if the cooker switch already has a socket on it, makes a differance too..

what if the hob was 32amps, + the oven @ 13amps and the microwave was pluged into the cooker socket....all being used at once.

all on a 6mm cable and 32a mcb.
